the BLANK arts society welcomes artists to submit work for consideration to BLANK SPACE 002, our juried exhibition and activation taking place at remote gallery on november 13th and 14th, 2026.
 
selected artists will be eligible for $500 in prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

this open call is international. artists from anywhere are welcome to apply.

theme: "THE SPACE BETWEEN"

the space between is never empty, it's where meaning lives. it's in the pause before a decision, the distance between who we were and who we're becoming... it's the gap between what's said and what's felt.

this exhibition invites artists to explore the in-between: the thresholds, transitions, and unresolved moments that shape how we see ourselves and each other. it might be the space between identity and perception, memory and reality, presence and absence, here and there, silence and speech. we're looking for work that doesn't just depict a subject, but occupies a tension as it that lives in the gap, rather than resolving it.

artists may submit one, two, or three works for consideration by the jury.

submission guidelines:
  • each submitted artwork should include a brief description and the price (or NFS if not for sale)
  • maximum artwork size: 36" x 36"
  • selected artworks must be ready to hang when dropped off (i.e. hanging hardware attached)

filenames for uploaded artwork should follow this format:

template: artistname_nameofartwork_medium_size
example: davade_selfportraitone_oilonwoodpanel_24x36

entry fee:
$10 for one artwork, $15 for two, $20 for three (non-refundable)

entry fee funds go toward space rental and programming for the awards ceremony and gallery activation.

BLANK's commission on artwork sold during the exhibition is 15%.

important dates:
  • applications close at 11:59pm on october 9th, 2026
  • selected artists notified by october 16th, 2026
  • artwork must ship by october 20th, 2026 or be dropped off by november 11th

selected artists are responsible for the cost and logistics of getting their work to and from remote gallery in toronto.
