BLANK apprentice program application

thanks for your interest in the BLANK newcomer artist apprenticeship program.


this form should take about 15–20 minutes to complete.


the BLANK arts society is offering two (2) toronto-based newcomer and refugee visual artists the opportunity to be embedded inside the work of its organization.


selected apprentices will take on active roles in artist profiling, production planning, video editing, non-profit management, and community outreach alongside lead artists segun caezar and dav adé.


apprentices will have dedicated studio time for both BLANK related tasks and independent creation at akin collective in toronto, as well as structured mentorship throughout the program. the experience culminates in a public documentary screening and artist talk in toronto.


to be eligible, you must:

  • be a toronto-based visual artist

  • identify as a newcomer or refugee who has lived in canada for 7 years or less

  • be available in-person two days per week, july 2 – november 1, 2026


cv, artist statement, and portfolio uploads are optional, however a video submission is required.


please do not let an incomplete cv or portfolio stop you from applying. we care about your voice and your vision, not the polish of your paperwork.
